Farming in Protected Landscapes event, 5 Dec

Please join us on Tuesday 5th December 10 - 1.30 at Lower Wood Farm, Hopton Cangeford, Ludlow. SY8 2EE for the first event of the newly launched Pasture and Profit in Protected Landscapes project in the Shropshire Hills, Malvern Hills and Wye Valley AONBs.

James Turner will be our host for the morning out on the farm and talk us through his approach to pasture fed cattle. He will show us how he has reduced the use of imported feeds and how he is working towards minimising the use of chemical inputs. We will discuss the considerations for mobile grazing systems as well as the benefits this system can impart for biodiversity, animal health and the farm business.

Returning to the barn for further refreshments, Ruth Pullan from Pasture for Life will introduce the Pasture and Profit in Protected Landscape project, how it will work and how you can get involved.

We will also hear from our Farming in Protected Landscapes Advisor, Alison Jones, on how the programme can benefit you and your farm, with a particular focus on funding for mob grazing infrastructure.

And finally there will be an opportunity for Q&As with James, Alison and Ruth to discuss anything which has come up on the day.

Lunch will round things up and we expect to finish at 1.30pm.

We hope you can join us for what will be a really interesting and informative morning.

All events in the Pasture and Profit in Protected Landscapes project are free to attend. If you are interested in coming along then please contact Ruth on 07951 399176 or email severnwye@pastureforlife.org to book your place.
