Young Rangers: woodland activity day

Woodland activity day – charcoal making demo, woodland management skills and willow weaving. 

We’ll be joined by Gary Cowell  from Knighton Community Woodland Group who will be demoing his mini charcoal making ‘retort’. Alongside this, we’ll carry out some coppicing on the willow beds, as well as having a go at small tree felling and processing, and chordwood stacking. We’ll once again be joined by ‘basket case’ Caroline Lowe, who will run a group willow weaving workshop.
