The Wrekin Alpine Gin supports the AONB Trust
If gin is your tipple of choice, Moonshine & Fuggles of Ironbridge, an independent spirits & ales retail specialist, have just released their new gin, The ‘Wrekin Alpine’.
For every bottle sold, £3 will be donated to the Shropshire Hills AONB Trust, which supports local projects to care for and raise awareness of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Anthony Morgan, chair of the Shropshire Hills AONB Trust explains, “Shropshire’s iconic hill, the Wrekin, is part of the Shropshire Hills AONB. As a charity we work to retain the quality of the Shropshire Hills landscape whilst strengthening connections with local people and local businesses. This partnership with Moonshine & Fuggles Wrekin Alpine Gin will help to raise awareness of our special countryside, strengthen local support and monies raised will go into our AONB Conservation Fund to support local conservation projects. I hear the gin is quite tasty too!”
The gin uses Wrekin pine needles, pine nuts and woodland herbs.
Derek Bowen, Moonshine and Fuggles, adds, ‘We are really proud of our latest edition, Wrekin Alpine. This is something that will stand out from the 300 plus gins we have on our table in store. It’s refreshingly piney with a herbaceous and creamy mouthfeel and a long dry finish. I am so pleased that Shropshire Hills AONB Trust agreed to work with us. Conservation of our beautiful local iconic landscape is key and I am pleased that we are able contribute with a little help from our customers’.
Look out for taster evenings, and local pop-up gin bars when permitted again. Moonshine & Fuggles, at 6, The Square, Ironbridge, is open seven days a week. For more information, or to place an order, please visit www.moonshineandfuggles.com or call 01952 433626.
