Natural Environment Officer vacancy at Shropshire Hills AONB team

Do you have the skills to help drive nature recovery in the Shropshire Hills?

Natural Environment Officer vacancy at Shropshire Hills AONB team. We have an important full-time permanent role available to lead our natural environment and nature recovery work – both projects and strategic activity.

A team member is retiring soon after 20 years and we have managed to arrange an early recruitment so that the new postholder can work alongside him for some months. This is a great learning opportunity as a start to an exciting job in the lovely Shropshire Hills!

Key developing work is on our peatlands and ancient woodlands, and we also have longstanding involvement with catchment management.

Working with a wide range of partner organisations, you will develop and manage delivery projects as well as providing strategic advice, support and input where needed. You will take forward our developing work on peatlands and headwaters, woodlands and trees, climate change and on specific areas including the Clun and Teme catchments.

You will have a significant experience in developing and leading the delivery of natural environment projects as well as providing technical advice and input to casework and strategic work.
