DISCOVERY SESSION: What bat is that?                              

The John Muir Award, which underpins Young Rangers, is all about discovering wild places on your doorstep and finding out what makes them special.

Poles Coppice offers good bat habitat but very little bat recording has taken pace here, so with support from Shropshire Bat Group we’d like to carry-out a walkover survey, using bat detectors. Experts in the field will share their knowledge on the fascinating field of bat ecology and behaviour. A great opportunity to experience some night-time woodland activity!
