Young Ranger activity - nestbox survey at Snailbeach

DISCOVERY SESSION - Nestbox Survey at Snailbeach

Thanks to the support of local experts and volunteers this nestbox project has been a fantastic success (now in its 6th year). Over the years, we’ve seen a very encouraging take-up of the nest boxes by the target species, Pied Flycatchers.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to get up close and witness the chicks develop, as well as to learn about bird surveying and recording. For those of you who have attended already, there’s likely to be some changes since your last visit!

Please be advised that the survey site is on steep, uneven ground. Also, the activity is limited to small numbers to minimise disturbance.

For more information and to book onto this activity please get in touch with Joe Penfold, email or telephone 01743 250629.

(places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment)

Parents/carers are welcome to come along, especially for those who might be attending for the first-time.
