A Protected Landscape

The Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is one of 47 AONBs designated in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.  Along with National Parks they make up our finest landscapes.

The Shropshire Hills AONB Partnership

The primary purpose of the designation is to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the landscape.  A legal duty to fulfil this rests with two local authorities, who act jointly in a formal structure called the Shropshire Hills AONB Partnership.
