Wildflower meadows are stunning to look at; they also provide a home for hundreds of different kinds of plants, insects, birds and animals. The Shropshire Hills still has many fine meadows but there are far fewer now than 50 years ago.
We want to change this by gathering seed from existing meadows to restore old meadows to their former glory. We hope to show that gathering wildflower seed can not only conserve these beautiful meadows but also provide a valuable extra income for landowners.
Advice and grant aid is available to landowners wishing to re-create a wildflower meadow on their land.
